Cincinnati—Two prominent Cincinnati business leaders have joined the board of The Malibu Group, the Blue Ash-based mergers and acquisitions consulting firm.
Steve Schrantz, former executive vice president for Fifth Third Bank, and Rick Maier, vice president of Finance and Administration for Global Fastening Solutions, joined the board in December.
“Steve and Rick bring a tremendous amount of wisdom and experience to our board,” noted Malibu Founding Partner Peter Kubasek. “They have a long history of involvement in the city, and they have many demands placed upon their time. We are privileged to benefit from their combined expertise in banking and acquisitions.”
In 2004, Schrantz retired from his 29-year career at Fifth Third Bank as executive vice president in charge of commercial banking. He currently serves on a variety of boards including River Cities Capital Funds, the Board of Trustees of the College of Mount Saint Joseph and is Chairman of the Board of Tri-Health.
Maier is a former senior vice president of LaSalle Bank, where he served for more than 20 years in roles which included chief financial officer, acquisition finance structuring and origination, and most recently regional manager of the Bank’s Cincinnati office which he helped establish in 2001. He is the past president of the Cincinnati chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth and serves on the boards of the Queen City Foundation and the Ohio Valley MS Society.
