The Malibu Group was one of nine businesses and nonprofit organizations in the tri-state area that was recognized for its commitment to the ideals of marketplace ethics by receiving the Better Business Bureau's 2006 Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics on October 19 at Music Hall in Cincinnati.
"The Torch Award encompasses the spirit and tradition of the BBB unlike anything else," BBB President Jocile Ehrlich said. "It recognizes and honors businesses and organizations who fully commit themselves to ethical practices in all aspects of their business dealings."
The judges evaluated applications based on eight judging criteria established by the Council of Better Business Bureaus and the International Torch Award Program. Twenty two finalists were chosen by the judges based on the overall scores; the Torch Award recipient being the top finalist in each category.
"It is an honor and a privilege to receive this kind of recognition for ethics in the marketplace," said Malibu Group Founding Partner Peter Kubasek. "It carries with it an enormous responsibility to live up to the ideals represented by the award. This is a responsibility the Malibu Group embraces with enthusiasm."
